My Core Values and the Life They Are Creating

My Core Values and How They Shape My Life

Week  2:  After answering the call to live with more intention, one of the most powerful things I learned was this:  clarity begins with values.

For a long time, I moved through life responding to expectations, responsibilities, and “shoulds.” It wasn’t until I slowed down and asked myself what truly matters to me that things began to shift. My choices became clearer. My energy felt more grounded. And my life began to feel more like my own.

What Values Really Mean to Me

Values aren’t just words written in a journal or listed on a vision board. They are the inner compass that guides how we show up—especially when life feels uncertain.

To me, values are what remain steady when circumstances change. They shape how I spend my time, who I allow into my life, and how I care for myself. When I honor my values, I feel aligned. When I don’t, my body and spirit let me know.

How I Discovered My Core Values

Discovering my values wasn’t a single moment—it was a process of reflection, listening, and honesty. I began noticing patterns:
What drained me.
What energized me.
What brought peace—and what created resistance.

Over time, a few core values became very clear.

The Values That Guide My Life

While values can evolve, these are the ones that consistently guide me:

Growth
I believe we are always becoming. Growth doesn’t mean constant striving—it means being willing to learn, heal, and expand at your own pace.

Intentional Living
Living on purpose, rather than on autopilot, is deeply important to me. I strive to make choices that align with my inner truth, even when they’re small.

Compassion
For others—and for myself. Healing requires gentleness, patience, and understanding.

Authenticity
I value being real over being perfect. Honesty creates connection, and connection creates healing.

Spiritual Alignment
Listening to intuition, honoring inner wisdom, and nurturing mind, body, and spirit are non-negotiables for me.

How My Values Shape My Daily Life

These values guide how I structure my days, set goals, and even rest. They influence how I approach self-care, how I teach vision boards, and how I support other women in their journeys.

When decisions feel difficult, I return to my values and ask:

  • Does this support who I’m becoming?

  • Does this honor my energy?

  • Does this feel aligned with my why?

The answers are often simpler than I expect.

When Life Feels Out of Alignment

Whenever I feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck, it’s usually a sign that I’ve drifted away from my values. Instead of judging myself, I use that awareness as an invitation to realign.

Alignment isn’t about doing more—it’s about coming back to what matters.

An Invitation for You

You don’t need to have everything figured out to begin living in alignment. Start by noticing what feels true for you. Your values are already there—they’re just waiting to be acknowledged.

Reflection

Take a moment to ask yourself:

  • What matters most to me right now?

  • When do I feel most like myself?

  • What values do I want my life to reflect?

Let those answers guide you gently forward.

Week 2 Affirmations

  • I live in alignment with my deepest values.

  • My values guide my choices with clarity and confidence.

  • When I honor my values, my life flows with greater ease.

Week 2 Journal Prompt

Journal Exercise: Clarifying My Core Values

List moments in your life when you felt most aligned, peaceful, or proud of yourself. What values were you honoring in those moments?

From your reflections, identify 3–5 core values that feel essential to who you are right now. Write why each value matters and one small way you can honor it this week.
